Cigar rings have always fascinated me, even as a child. I collected them back then, but they didn’t survive until I was a full-grown aficionado. At some point I started keeping them again, as my personal register of sins, so to speak. However, I wasn’t always consistent. Sometimes I damaged them when taking them off, other times I forgot them in the breast pocket of my shirt, where they were crushed and the washing machine did the rest. Nevertheless, there have been many over the years and I am pleased to dedicate my little stop-motion movie ‘just a few of my cuban cigar sins’ to them as a thank you for the wonderful hours of enjoyment we spent together.
…and by the way, in good old movie tradition, there is an ‘Easter egg’ hidden in the movie – who can find it? . . . Zigarrenringe haben mich schon als Kind immer fasziniert. Ich habe sie schon damals gesammelt, doch haben sie die Zeit bis ich ein ausgewachsener Aficionado war nicht überlebt. Irgendwann habe ich wieder damit angefangen sie aufzubewahren, sozusagen als mein persönliches Sündenregister. Jedoch war ich nicht immer konsequent. Manchmal habe ich sie beim abmontieren beschädigt, dann wieder Mal in der Brusttasche des Hemdes vergessen, wo sie zerquetscht wurden und ihnen die Waschmaschine danach den Rest gab. Trotzdem sind es über die Jahre viele geworden und es freut mich ihnen meinen kleinen StopMotion Film ‘just a few of my cuban cigar sins’ zu widmen als Dank für die schönen genüsslichen Stunden, die wir zusammen verbracht haben.
…und übrigens ist, in guter alter Film-Tradition, ein ‘Easter egg’ im Film versteckt – wer findet’s?
Unfortunately, it is a fact that there are many fraudsters among our fellow human beings. Especially when it comes to Cuban cigars, counterfeiters and scammers have become a real plague.
I recently made the ‘acquaintance’ of a cigar scammer. A friend pointed out to me that the user Habanos_cigar_collector was misusing images and texts from my posts on Instagram. After a quick visit to his Instagram account, I realized that he was misusing a lot of my posts.
This prompted me to contact him under an alternative user and ‘play’ with him a little. Specifically, I was interested in my own Cohiba Maduro Humidor 167/500. . . . Leider ist es eine Tatsache, dass es viele Betrüger unter unseren Mitmenschen gibt. Insbesondere bei kubanischen Zigarren sind Fälscher und Betrüger eine regelrechte Plage geworden.
Ich durfte letzthin mit einem Zigarren Scammer ‘Bekanntschaft’ machen. Ein Freund hat mich darauf hingewiesen, dass Auf Instagram der Benutzer Habanos_cigar_collector Bilder und Texte aus meinen Posts missbraucht. Nach kurzer Visite seines Instagram Accounts musste ich in der Tat feststellen, dass er vieles aus meinen Posts missbräuchlich verwendet.
Das hat mich animiert, unter einem alternativen Benutzer ihn zu kontaktieren und ein bisschen mit ihm zu ‘spielen’. Konkret habe ich mich für meinen eigenen Cohiba Maduro Humidor interessiert. . . . My abused original pictures / Meine missbrauchten Original-Bilder:

With the price development that has taken place with Cuban cigars, today’s value is probably estimated at 15 – 20k, as only 500 of these were produced worldwide. Perhaps he thinks that cigars deteriorate over time and lose value? Well, I rather think that he has no idea about Cuban cigars at all. Since the game had started so nicely, I tried to drive the price up, along the lines of ‘let’s see where we end up’. When I asked him if it was a typo, he corrected it to USD 1,800. When I wrote that it was more likely to be USD 18,000, otherwise it must be a fake, he wanted to ask his boss. Unfortunately, I heard nothing more. Nach dem ersten Kontakt mit Preisanfrage hat er mir einen Preis von USD 180 offeriert! Das ist erstaunlich, wenn man bedenkt, dass dieser Humidor, im Jahr 2013, CHF 3’500 gekostet hat. Mit der stattgefundenen Preisentwicklung bei den kubanischen Zigarren dürfte der heutige Wert geschätzt 15 – 20k betragen, da davon nur 500 Stück weltweit produziert wurden. Vielleicht denkt er, Zigarren würden über die Zeit schlechter und verlieren an Wert? Nun ich glaube eher, dass er hinten und vorne null Ahnung von kubanischen Zigarren hat. Da das Spiel so hübsch gestartet hat probierte ich den Preis hinaufzutreiben, nach dem Motto ‘schauen wir Mal wo wir landen’. Als ich ihn gefragt habe ob es ein Schreibfehler sei, hat er auf USD 1’800.– nachgebessert. Als ich geschrieben habe, dass es eher 18’000.– seien, sonst müsse es eine Fälschung sein, wollte er seinen Chef fragen. Leider habe ich nichts mehr gehört. Schade – ich hätte gerne noch etwas mit ihm gespielt. . . . The chat protocol / Das Chat-Protokoll:

Bezüglich meiner Bilder hatte ich zuerst überlegt nun überall ein sichtbares Wasserzeichen zu nutzen. Doch habe ich mich dagegen entschieden, weil es mir dann so vorkommt wie mit den Zigarrenkistchen auf denen all diese hässlichen Warnkleber aufgeklebt sind.

Registering as a new customer, including the new customer check, was quick and easy and therefore professional. As they happen to have almost the same name as my blog, I asked them via their chat about the possible name confusion. They answered me immediately and are relaxed about it.
www.bondroberts.com This auction platform is designed for permanent bidding. It has been active for a few years now. I had looked in from time to time and decided to create a user account with my @cigar.land mail domain on 17.02.2024. Registration was easy. I clicked on the confirmation link via email straight away. But I couldn’t log in until the admin had checked it. But I never received an admin activation. On the contrary, my account was blocked after one day! I did not receive a reply to my message requesting activation. So I clicked on the confirmation link in the e-mail again. Same game again: Admin approval status, after one or two days another blocked user account. So I wrote again and again got no reply. So I clicked the activation link in the e-mail again – same game all over again! In the end, another blocked account. When I tried to write a message for the third time, I realized that this was no longer possible! The certificate key for the captcha generator has expired! It’s been like this for several days now – how very unprofessional for a commercial website!
The website rarely, if ever, seems to be maintained: An announcement regarding the year 2021 is still prominently displayed, even though it is now 2024! With these, my experiences, the question arises as to whether they invest any time at all in identifying counterfeits. What happens in the event of a dispute between buyer and seller – are they left to their own devices, is the maintenance of the website/web server so inadequate that sooner or later there could be a security problem, etc., etc.? To me, it all seems more like a side money-making machine by some guys who want to invest little but cash in (as long as they don’t drive away potential customers from the outset).
As a test, I created another account with a different mail domain, which worked. But I will never use it. So unfortunately I can’t do any business with Bond Roberts, which should please their competitors who are not so hostile to me. . . . Ist Bond Roberts wirklich seriös?

Im Gegenteil mein Konto war nach einem Tag gesperrt! Eine Antwort auf meine Nachricht, mit Bitte um Freischaltung bekam ich nicht. Also habe ich den Bestätigungslink im E-Mail nochmals angeklickt. Wieder dasselbe Spiel: Admin approval Status, nach ein bis zwei Tagen wieder ein gesperrtes Benutzerkonto. Also habe ich nochmale geschrieben und bekam wieder keine Antwort. Also nochmals Aktivierungslink im E-Mail – dasselbe Spiel von vorn! Am Ende wieder ein gesperrter Account. Als ich zum dritten Mal eine Nachricht verfassen wollte musste ich feststellen, dass dies nicht mehr möglich ist! Der Zertifikatsschlüssel beim Captcha-Generator ist abgelaufen! Das ist nun seit mehreren Tagen so – wie überaus unprofessionell für eine kommerzielle Website! Die Webseite scheint selten, wenn überhaupt gewartet zu werden: Eine Ankündigung, das Jahr 2021 betreffend, steht immer noch prominent da, obwohl wir mittlerweile das Jahr 2024 haben!? Mit diesen, meinenen Erfahrungen, stellt sich mir die Frage ob sie überhaupt Zeit investieren um Fälschungen zu identifizieren. Was geschieht bei einem Streit zwischen Käufer und Verkäufer – werden sie sich selbst überlassen, ist die Wrtung der Webseite / des Webservers so ungenügend, dass es früher oder später ein Sicherheitsproblem geben könnte, etc., etc.? Mir macht das alles eher den Eindruck einer nebenbei Geldmachine einiger Jungs, die wenig investieren aber kassieren möchten (sofern sie mögliche Kunden nicht von vornherein vertreiben).
Testweise habe ich noch einen weiteren Account, mit einer anderen Mail-Domäne angelegt das hat funktioniert. Nur werde ich diesen nie nutzen. Somit können leider keine Geschäfte mit Bond Roberts stattfinden, was deren Mitbewerber, die mir nicht so feindlich gesinnt sind, freuen dürfte. . . .
Verification / Blocked / No messages – A key error has been like this for days! . . .
As we got our new rings from Obsession, the ring of my wife Yacquelin was a bit to large. Both rings had no engravings, because the production time was to short. After beeing back from the XVIII Festival del Habano the ring of her should be rebuilt and both should be engraved. What we didn’t know at the moment, these rings should never get their engarvings…
Within five hours Yacquelin lost her ring in the kitchen. With a fast movement of her hand the ring dropped from her finger and flew somewhere. We heard a short, dry, dump ‘clack’. We searched inside the whole kitchen and outside the house, because the window was a little bit open, but we could not find the ring. At the end we ordered help from craftsmen who dismounted several parts in the kitchen, like moving the fridge outside it’s cover, etc. At the end we had to accept it’s lost.
At March 12, 2016 I turned back from Cuba and the XVIII Festival del Habano. At the Air France flight AF0943 from Habana to Paris I had to visit the restroom. As I washed my hands I pulled the ring from my finger and forgot to push it back before I returned to my seat. I noticed this a short while after and moved back to the restroom. The ring was not there anymore, somebody tooked it. I asked the crew to help me and they did an announcement in English, French and Spanish. But the person who took the ring has decided to not give it back for a finders fee. From the perspective of the insurance the announcement has turned the finding into a qualified theft. With this, they gave me a partial compensation for the expenses of the ring. But at the end Yacqui and I don’t had a second time no more wedding bands. We had to order a new set. After one month we had our new rings and a week later a priest blessed them. We hope the new rings will last forever.
I would give a reward of USD 3’000.– for the recovery of stolen goods and the seize of the thief. The ring is from pure 18k gold with black appliances of colorit. Inside the ring is the following signet from the manufacturer: OSO 850 (worldwide unique). The dimensions are: Diameter 70.5 (23mm inside) height 13mm, thicknes 2mm, The ring is absolutely unique and the manufacturer would never produce it for other people. Wie ich in früheren Blog-Posts geschrieben hatte, haben ich und meine Frau Hochzeitsringe, welche von einem Zigarrenband ‘Edición Limitada 2015’ inspiriert sind. Zu allererst bekamen wir eine sehr unerfreuliche und unprofessionelle Arbeit von Koenig Design AG, Zürich präsentiert. Am Ende fanden wir einen zuverlässigen Partner in der Goldschmiede Obsession, Zürich. Aber das ist nicht alles… die Geschichte geht weiter.

A very good thing with having relatives in Cuba is, you go with a suitcase full of gifts to Cuba. AT the end, it’s empty after gave it all away. What is to do with an empty suitcase? Fill it of course – fill it with cigars and cigar related goodies from the XVIII Festival del Habano. And this is how my suitcase is looking when I came back to Switzerland.

Eine sehr gute Sache, mit Verwandten in Kuba haben ist, man geht mit einem Koffer voller Geschenken nach Kuba. Am Ende, wenn alles weggeben wurde, ist er leer. Was macht man mit einem leeren Koffer? Ihn füllen natürlich – füllen mit Zigarren und Zigarren-Goodies vom XVIII Festival del Habano. Und so schaut mein Koffer nach der Rückkehr in die Schweiz aus.

Yacqui and me were really reduced through the flu, but missing THE EVENT of the whole XVIII Festival del Habano was really no option. The bus picked us at 7:00 p.m. at the Hotel Nacional. As a welcome everybody got a glass of champagne. After passing the entrance each of us got a heavy bag with some goodies. The first cigar we got was a Cohiba Medio Siglo. This should be released this year.
We smoked a lot, met old friends, but had to leave early, because we had to move at 3:30 a.m. to the airport for our flight to Santiago de Cuba.

Yacqui und ich waren von der Grippe wirklich reduziert, aber DEN EVENT des ganzen XVIII Festival del Habano zu verpassen war wirklich keine Option. Der Bus holte uns 19:00 vom Hotel Nacional ab. Zur Begrüssung bekamen alle ein Glas Chmpagner. Nachdem wir den Eingang passiert hatten bekam jeder von uns eine schwere Tasche mit einigen Goodies. Die erste Zigarre, die wir bekamen, war eine Cohiba Medio Siglo. Diese sollte im Laufe des Jahres herausgegeben werden.
Wir rauchten eine Menge, trafen alte Freunde, aber mussten früh gehen, da wir um 3:30, für unseren Flug nach Santiago de Cuba, am Flughafen sein mussten.

Tuesday, March 1: Starting at 7 A.M. we had an excursion to Pinar del Rio. First we visited the plantation of Alejandro Perez Cabrera. Yacqui got an personal invitation from him, when she stays next time in Cuba. He offered her to learn how to rol cigars within two weeks. The second visit was in two factories, one for the fermentation of the tobacco-leafs and the other for preparing them. From there we moved to Viñales. In front of the Mural de la Prehistoria we got something to drink and to eat. After the lunch we drove back to Havana.
Wednesday, March 2: Yacqui and I had a flu! We had fever, hurting joints and catarrh. With this we droped the opening of the convention and the visit of the ‘Noche de los Torcedores’.
Thursday, March 3: During the day was planned to visit different cigarfactories. Unfortunately the flu has knocked us out and crossed our plans. During the day we searched for medicine and were the most time in or outside of the hotel, in the smokers lounge. There I met Francis Davis who owns a cigar shop in London. The only cigar related action outside was to visit the Casa del Habano in the Hotel Melia Habana. I tried to smoke cigars, but the flavour was significantly reduced because of the katarrh. In the evening we visited the Cena Cubana, a special event from Intertabak and 5th Avenue, the official importers of Habanos for the German talking area in Europe. As the Cena Cubana had limited seats and the most peolple had to stay we decided to leave the event and to relax in the hotel.

Dienstag 1. März: 7:00 Uhr starteten wir zu einer Exkursion nach Pinar del Rio. Zuerst besuchten wir die Tabakplantage von Alejandro Perez Cabrera. Yacqui bekam eine persönliche Einladung von ihm, wenn sie nächste Mal in Cuba ist. Er offerierte ihr in zwei Wochen Zigarren rollen zu lernen. Der zweite Besuch galt zwei Tabakfabriken. Die eine war für die Fermentation von Tabak, die andere für die Vorbereitung der Blätter. Danach verschoben wir uns nach Viñales. Vor dem Mural de la Prehistoria bekamen wir etwas zu essen und zu trinken. Nach dem Lunch fuhren wir zurück nach Havanna.
Mittwoch 2. März: Yacqui und ich hatten eine Grippe! Wir hatten Fieber, schmerzende Gelenke, und Schnupfen. Damit liessen wir die Eröffnung der Fachmesse und die ‘Noche de los Torcedores’ fallen.
Donnerstag 3. März: Während des Tages war geplant diverse Zigarrenfabriken zu besuchen. Unglücklicherweise hat uns die Grippe niedergestreckt und durchkreuzte unsere Pläne. Den Tag durch suchten wir Medizin und waren die meiste Zeit im und ausserhalb des Hotels in der Smokers Lounge. Die einzige Aktion ausserhalb war der Besuch der Casa Habano im Hotel Melia Habana. Ich versuchte Zigarren zu rauchen, doch der Geschmack war, dank des Schnupfens, signifikant reduziert. Am Abend besuchten wir die Cena Cubana, eine spezielle Veranstaltung von Intertabak und der 5th Avenue, den offiziellen Importeuren für den deutschsprachigen Raum in Europa. Weil die Cena Cubana limitierte Sitzplätze hatte und die meisten Leute stehen mussten haben wir uns entschlossen den Anlass zu verlassen und im Hotel etwas zu entspannen.

Do you see something? This picture was taken in the fermentation chamber for tobacco. Inside this chamber a sauna climate exists, 34 degrees celsius and 85% RHD. This is for speeding up the fermentation of tobacco. As we entered the room my glasses and the camera fogged immediately. It was really hard to be in this room. I was happy to leave it as soon as possible.

Siehst du irgend etwas? Dieses Bild wurde in der Tabak-Fermentationskammer gemacht. In dieser Kammer herrscht ein Sauna-Klima von 34 Grad Celsius und 85% RLF. Dies ist um die Fermentation des Tabaks zu beschleunigen. Als wir den Raum betraten beschlugen meine Brillengläser und das Kamera-Objektiv sofort. Es war wirklich hart sich in diesem Raum aufzuhalten. Ich war glücklich ihn so bald als möglich zu verlassen.

After 14 hours, since we started from Zurich Airport, we were lucky to be in the Nacional Hotel. We got an Executive Room. As soon as possible I booked an Internet-WiFi-connection. As I expected, it was expensive, slow, unreliable and with blocked ports. Very difficult for me to maintain my datacenter in Zurich and work with my blog.
Our focus moved very fast to food and smoking. First we decided to go into one of the restaurants in the hotel. The people there recognized us from the last years visit and had a warm welcome for us.

Nach 14 Stunden, seit wir vom Flughafen Zürich starteten, waren wir glücklich im Hotel Nacional zu sein. Wir bekamen ein Executive Zimmer. So schnell als möglich buchte ich eine WiFi Internetverbindung. Wie ich erwartet hatte, sie war teuer, langsam, unzuverlässig und hatte blockierte Ports. Sehr schwierig für mich um mein Datacenter in Zürich zu warten und mit meinem Blog zu arbeiten.
Unser Fokus bewegte sich sehr schnell aufs Essen und etwas zu rauchen. Zuerst entschieden wir uns, in eines der Restaurants des Hotels zu gehen. Die Leute dort kannten uns noch vom letzten Jahr und bereiteten uns einen herzlichen Empfang.

. First we had to eat something. We ordered a champagne from Veuve Clicquot and a Langosta Nacional. The Langosta Nacional is one of my favourite dish there. We finished the dinner very fast and taked the bottle with us, to the smokers lobby outside the hotel.

Zuerst mussten wir etwas essen. Wir bestellten einen Champagner von Veuve Clicquot und eine Langosta Nacional. Die Langosta Nacional ist eine meiner Lieblingsspeisen dort. Wir beendeten das Essen sehr schnell und nahmen die Champagnerflasche mit uns, in die Raucher-Lobby, ausserhalb des Hotels.

. My first cigar, in Havana, was a Quai d’Orsay – Robusto Diplomático – Edición Regional Francia. I bought it during our stopover at the airport Paris CDG. This is the only good thing for a non direct flight, the possibility to buy additional special cigar releases.

Meine erste Zigarre, in Havanna, war eine Quai d’Orsay – Robusto Diplomático – Edición Regional Francia. Ich kaufte sie bei unserem Zwischenstopp im Flughafen Paris CDG. Das ist das einzig gute an einem Flug der nicht direkt ist, die Möglichkeit zusätzliche spezielle Zigarrenausgaben zu kaufen.

As I wrote in an earlier blog-post, me and my wife had the idea to use the design of a Edición Limitada 2015 cigar band, for our wedding bands.
We were thinking this shold not be very hard to produce for a true professional. As we had to see, this was a very wrong expectation.

Wie ich in einem früheren Blog-Eintrag schrieb, hatten meine Frau und ich die Idee das Design eines Edición Limitada 2015 Zigarrenbandes als Motiv für unsere Eheringe zu verwenden.
Wir hatten gedacht, dass die Produktion für einen richtigen Profi nicht sehr schwer sein sollte. Wie wir sehen mussten war dies eine sehr falsche Annahme.

We wanted to have the design from the picture below at our wedding bands. It should be as exact as possible, downsized approx 20%. The gold color should be like the original cigar band.

Wir wollten das Design des nachfolgenden Bildes für unsere Eheringe. Es sollte so exakt wie möglich sein, um etwa 20% verkleinert. Die Goldfarbe sollte wie das originale Zigarrenband sein.

. The first try – a total disaster / Der erste Versuch – ein totales Desaster

For the production we choosed the Company Koenig Design AG finest swiss handmade jewellery since 1985, In Gassen 9, CH-8001 Zurich, +41 (0)44 212 00 56. Mr. Roger König was our consultant. As we understood him, the production should not be a huge problem. Maybe two very thin lines could not be realized, and the embossing from the printing is not possible – it would be a flat design, but all other things should not be a problem. The timeframe for the production until Dec. 23, 2015 would be enough, because it was approx. two month until then.
The first bad feelings came, as I asked to pay with an invoice. He said this is of course no problem. Some days later I got a mail from him where he wrote like: After connecting with the headquarter in St. Moritz the financing has to be discussed, its not possible to pay with an invoice. I was really upset.
The day came when we should get our wedding bands. We were very excited to see them. But what we had to see was absolutely shocking. The gold was strong rose gold, the disign was not the design from the example we gave him. The black color was not applied that all the grooves and letters were filled. The number 2 at one of the rings was not finished, some of the dots had an anomalous formation. We were really shocked! For us the rings looked like an untalented apprentice has tried to do some work. First we had to discuss, should me and my wife shift the wedding, because the date was very close. After a short discussion Mr. Roger König said he would do some emergency corrections. After the wedding and the new yaar holidays we can return the rings and they would do all necessary steps until we are happy customers.
We came back to him at Jan 16., 2016. I wrote a short letter, based on the earlier discussions, with a listing of points who are important for us. After the first experience with the company Koenig Design AG finest swiss handmade jewellery since 1985, I was very careful now and would no more discussions about surprises. The timeframe for the production, until our trip to Cuba at Feb 26, should be no problem. Mr Roger König said this is enough time. At Jan 25. I got a mail from Mr. Roger König. The message was in a short form: As we are now not satisfied with the rose gold he has to drop the project, because it’s now no more economically for him. He would be sure he would be able to do it otherwise.
Unbelievable! THIS MAN HAS NEEDED TEN DAYS TO SAY US I DROP THE PROJECT! He has known that it would be time critrical for us, because there was one month until our travel to Cuba. We had lost our rings we had married with and had additionally to find a reliable project-partner in a very short time!

Für die Produktion wählten wir die Firma Koenig Design AG, finest swiss handmade jewellery since 1985, In Gassen 9, CH-8001 Zürich, +41 (0)44 212 00 56. Herr Roger König war unser Berater. Wie wir ihn verstanden hatten, sollte die Produktion kein Problem darstellen. Vielleicht können zwei sehr dünne Linien nicht realisiert werden, oder die Prägungen des Drucks sind nicht möglich – es würde ein ebenes Design geben, aber alle anderen Dinge sollten kein Problem sein. Die Zeitvorgaben für die Produktion, bis zum 23. Dez. 2015 sind genug, da es gut zwei Monate bis dahin waren.
Die ersten schlechten Gefühle kamen, als ich bat mit einer Rechnung zahlen zu können. Er sagte dies ist selbstverständlich kein Problem. Einige Tage später bekam ich ein E-Mail von ihm, in dem er schrieb: Nach Rücksprache mit dem Hauptsitz in St. Moritz muss die Finanzierung diskutiert werden, es ist nicht möglich mit einer Rechnung zu zahlen. Ich war wirklich verärgert.
Der Tag kam, als wir unsere Eheringe bekommen sollten. Wir waren sehr erfreut sie zu sehen. Aber was wir zu sehen bekamen war absolut schockierend. Das Gold war starkes Rosé-Gold, das Design war nicht das Design des Musters welches wir ihm gaben. Die schwarze Farbe füllte die Rillen und Schrift nicht. Die Nummer 2 von einem der Ringe war nicht fertiggestellt, einige der Punkte hatten eine unregelmässige Formation. Wir waren wirklich schockiert! Für uns sahen die Ringe aus, wie wenn ein untalentierter Lehrling versucht hat eine Arbeit zu machen. Zuerst hatten wir zu diskutieren, ob ich und meine Frau die Hochzeit verschieben sollten, weil der Termin sehr nah war. Nach einer kurzen Diskussion sagte Herr Roger König er würde einige Notfall-Korrekturen machen. Nach der Hochzeit und den Neujahrsferien könnten wir zurück kommen und sie würden all die nötigen Schritte unternehmen bis wir glückliche Kunden seien.
Wir kamen am 16. Jan. 2016 zu ihm zurück. Ich schrieb ein kurzes Papier mit den Punkten, aus den früheren Diskussionen, welche uns wichtig waren. Nach der ersten Erfahrung mit der Firma Koenig Design AG, finest swiss handmade jewellery since 1985 war ich nun sehr vorsichtig und wollte keine Diskussionen von Überraschungen mehr. Die Zeitvorgabe für die Produktion, bis zu unserer Reise nach Kuba sollte kein Problem darstellen. Herr Roger König sagte dies sei genug Zeit. Am 25. Januar bekam ich ein Mail von Herrn Roger König. Die Mitteilung war kurz zusammengefasst: Da wir mit dem Rosé-Gold nun nicht zufrieden seien haber er das Projekt fallen zu lassen, weil es für ihn nicht mehr ökonomisch vertretbar sei.
Unglaublich! DIESER MANN HAT ZEHN TAGE BENÖTIGT UNS ZU SAGEN ER LÄSST DAS PROJEKT FALLEN! Er wusste das es für uns zeitkritisch ist, weil unsere Cuba-Reise in einem Monat bevorstand. Wir hatten unsere Ringe verloren, mit welchen wir geheiratet hatten und hatten zusätzlich schnell einen zuverlässigen Projekt-Partner zu finden!

After a short analysis of the situation we moved to Mr. Roger Koenig’s ‘neighbour’. The company Obesession Goldschmiede, In Gassen 5, CH-8001 Zurich, +41 (0)44 212 11 88. Mr Matthias Frei was our consultant. Mr Matthias Frei confirmed us, after a short discussion, the project is possible, with all lines, approx 20% downsized. The dot’s have to be arranged in a slightly other style. The embossing would not be possible – the structure will be flat. The timeframe for the production until Feb. 26 is possible he said.
After the visit he sent us a mail with a CAD model. This was a good discussion base. Afterwards we saw a wax model. The rings we got at Feb. 24. and we got what he promised. This was a very good experience after the awfull one before. He had executed the project within one month.

Nach einer kurzen Analyse der Situation gingen wir zu Herrn Roger König’s ‘Nachbar’. Der Firma Obsession Goldschmiede, In Gassen 5, CH-8001 Zurich, +41 (0)44 212 11 88. Herr Matthias Frei war unser Berater. Er bestätigte uns, nach einer kurzen Diskussion, das Projekt ist möglich, mit allen Linien, ca. 20% verkleinert. Die Punkte müssten etwas anders arrangiert werden. Die Prägungen sind nicht möglich – die Struktur wird flach sein. Die Zeit für die Produktion bis zum 26. Feb. ist machbar.
Nach dem Besuch bekamen wir ein CAD Modell. Dieses war eine gute Basis für weitere Diskussionen. Danach sahen wir ein Modell aus Wachs. Die Ringe bekamen wir am 24. Feb. und wir bekamen was er uns versprochen hatte. Das war eine sehr gute Erfahrung, nach der schrecklichen davor. Er hat das Projekt innerhalb eines Monats durchgeführt.
